About the Role
Responsibilities:
Advise and make recommendations to the Housing Authority / Committee.
Maintain all equipment, leased and owned, belonging to the Frog Lake Housing Department.
Supervise all employees of the Frog Lake Housing Department.
Responsible for the hiring of employees and contractors.
Assist with requests or recommendations regarding housing needs assessments.
Ensure work orders are completed in proper trades and prioritize emergency cases.
Fulfill all contractual agreements.
Inspect and approve certifications for work orders and contracts before closing files.
Ensure all work orders, supplies, and program costs are on budget.
Requirements
Leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
Reading comprehension and computer skills.
Experience in housing construction and knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and heating.
Certified journeyman carpenter or similar qualifications.
Ability to prepare budgets and read banking statements.
Valid driver's license and clean criminal record.
Safety certification in WHMIS, TDG, and First Aid.
Knowledge of Cree language is an asset.
