About the Role

Frog Lake Education Authority of Frog Lake First Nations, a Cree community in Northeastern Alberta. We are currently accepting applications for (1) Maintenance Supervisor/Worker

Duties And Responsibilities
To oversee the operations & maintenance of CNES, TTES, FLOS, Education Office and Teacherages.
Supervise maintenance staff
Approve purchases & staff leaves
Approving/working with various contractors
Operating various grounds equipment including bobcat, riding lawn mower, push mowers, whippers, and other various hand and power tools
Maintaining trees and shrubs, including pruning and weed removal
Providing labour assistance to teachers and staff within Frog Lake Education Authority
Assisting with the delivery and handling of supplies, tools and equipment
Assisting with furniture and equipment moves
Ability to use a computer and programs to assist with job requirements
Perform minor fixes, such as repairing broken locks, damage to walls etc.
Install necessary appliances and equipment as needed
Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, etc.
Inspect and troubleshoot various equipment and systems and be able to relay findings to professional services
Test the functionality of the facility’s safety system
Reporting to the Director of Education
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Experience with supervision of maintenance department and personnel
Must have the ability to: lift up to 50 lbs; climb ladders, work at heights, kneel, stand and walk for extended periods; perform work in awkward positions
Experience with operating various small equipment
Must be able to undertake tasks requiring good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Good problem solving, organizational, time management, and record keeping skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Computer literacy
Ability to work independently or on a team Salary will be determined on experience and qualifications

Requirements

  • Reliable Transportation with a Valid Class 5 Drivers License

  • Pass a Criminal Record Check

  • Pass a Child Welfare Record Check (CYIM)

  • Possess – Standard First Aide, TDG, WHMIS, Fall Arrest, CSTS (Construction Safety Training System), Ground Disturbance, Bobcat Training Training is available
